It is used on white or light-coloured handpieces and clinical devices where the connector should visually disappear into the housing. Two heavy-duty power paths and a multi-pin signal block share one keyed housing, so a single mated pair carries both supply and control. Clinics and OEMs that specify white housings can keep one mechanical design across a product line instead of stocking a second connector.
