The D1808 is laid out for 808 nm diode-laser handpieces, where the connector has to carry the laser diode current and the handpiece's control and sensor lines in one mated pair. The body is sized for a rigid tube tail.
It is used on 808 nm diode-laser hair-removal handpieces and compatible platforms. Power contacts are spaced for the current the diode stack draws, and the signal block is kept physically separate so thermistor and interlock lines are not run alongside the power path. It is the standard replacement connector for 808 platforms, and the one most often ordered together with its handpiece-end half.
