The D5 Series 8-Pin connector — the handpiece-side half of the D5 interface — is supplied in white. The D5 sits between the compact D1 and the 12-pin D4: eight signal positions plus the power path, in a housing close to the D1 footprint.
It is used on mid-range handpieces that need more signal lines than the D1 but do not justify a 12-pin interface. Eight signal pins cover the usual set of enable, interlock, thermistor and identification lines with room to spare. It is the compromise most OEMs land on when they want headroom without changing the handpiece housing.
Order it together with its mating half — D5 plugs and handpiece-end connectors are sold as a matched pair, so keying and pin-out always line up.
